Like I said, sometimes it was due to the person recommending her, and in a memorable case it was someone who was an inveterate mansplainer. Like, when I heard the term mansplainer, his is the face that popped into my head. So, having said I was currently reading some contemporary fantasy based on fairy tales, he was COMPELLED to tell me all about the one book he'd read which was based on a fairy tale. Also, I'm a feminist, and Tepper is a feminist, so obviously I'll like her....
