As a book, I... had trouble discerning a satisfactory story-shaped arc in Agnes. I mean, Agnes is fantastic, but her fantasticness is in coping with perpetual torment until good things randomly happen to her. This is an important life skill particularly for a woman in her setting, but it's not what I expect of a plot.
Villette though. Villette is fantastic. Oh! As is the Yuletide 2006 fanfic I would not be you for a kingdom, srsly if you like Ginevra you'll want to read it.
